The Golden Ratio
The Fibonacci Sequence is one of the most important mathematical discoveries in history. Each number is the sum of the previous two.: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, etc. The ratio between the numbers (1.618034) is known as the golden ratio. Because this ratio is ever present in nature, humans are subconsciously attracted to designs that follow the rule.
